Join a Writing Club

One of the best ways to learn something new is to surround yourself with like-minded people, and when you’re trying to become a writer the best place to find those like-minded people is at a writing club.

The clubs are a good way for you to get fast feedback and inspiration from ideas presented to you by the other writers. If you’re struggling to find a good writing club close to you, then try searching for one online.

Write Daily and Take notes

A very easy way to get good at something is to do it again and again until you’ve mastered it. That’s how writing is as well, when you start writing daily then you start giving yourself more time to think of ideas that you can incorporate into your writing. That’s when taking notes is really important, because most of the time if you don’t take notes that idea might never come back.

Read Regularly

People say that because you learn a lot from reading books, you get ideas and inspiration from the types of books you read.

The National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) has done lots of research in finding how reading benefits writing and they’ve concluded that students who read regularly are better at writing and are more fluent with their chain of thought compared to the ones who don’t read.

If you’re looking to start reading regularly, why not start with one of my books, like Three Brothers from Virginia—which is a story about three brothers, two black and one white fighting the civil war. Another great option is The Great Stupidity, the perfect book for young adults looking to read about the Black Death in a unique and comedic way.

Other than that I also have training books for aspiring doctors who want to know about clinical practices and communication techniques doctors use to improve their patient-doctor interactions. You can also check out other medical books on my website that help in dealing with all sorts of COVID-19 risks.
