Andy Lazris, MD,

Is a practicing primary care physician, a student of history and an author for most of his life, writing both fiction and about our health care system.

Andy Lazris received his BA in history at Brown University, medical degree at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York, and completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the University Of Virginia.  He currently lives and practices primary care and geriatric medicine in Maryland.  
 
He regularly writes op-eds and articles about our health care system, working to make it more sensible for patients and physicians.  He runs a practice primarily caring for elderly patients, and has been on the front line of COVID throughout the entire pandemic.   He has an ongoing interest in history, especially that of the Civil War, Jewish history, and African-American history.  He writes both fiction and non-fiction, and has two non-fiction partners with whom he has written books, articles, and op-eds. 
 
In his new novel about COVID, the Geriatrics Vengeance Club, he had is first foray into writing songs, twelve of which are on this website and are in the book.   He also has a podcast about health care, Running Doc Unhinged, whose link is on this site as well.
